October 5, 201015 yr Adobe has issued an out-of-band patch to address the vulnerabilty in Adobe Reader. Download link: Adobe version 9.4 Don't forget to uncheck the link to McAfee Security scan to avoid installing that as well.
October 6, 201015 yr Try foxit as a PDF reader. It loads in 1/10 the time and is free also. You can download it at foxit.com Everyone using Microsoft Windows operating system should get rid of their paid antivirus and install Microsoft Security Essetials. October 6, 201015 yr Thanks for the heads up. I’ve got Adobe set up to automatically search for updates, so I got this one when I turned on my computer today. Something to consider with “trusted” software.

I've never noticed any of either. What I have noticed is gigabytes of bloatware in Adobe Reader and a tiny but 100% effective reader in Foxit.
