The stupid thing about it is the REPUTATION SYSTEM already exists here at TV in a different format. I have two stars and anyone can award an extra star or detract from previous ones given by revoting on other members. Its almost exactly the same but different.:huh:

Mr Never. It's nowhere near 'exactly the same' & therefore it is quite 'different'.

AGREED. Its almost exactly the same but different to the extent that its not similar.

:cheesy:

Does the amount of stars equate to penis size?
Enough of the gossip. I have been on the ropes here with the "management" for years now. Whatever decision they make, pro or con, regarding the rep feature is PURELY their decision. I did ask for the option for people to be able to disable the feature entirely at the user level so that you could turn it off for yourself IF you wanted that, but leave it open for those that like the brownie point game. Of course I am pleased the feature is gone, but that doesn't mean it won't come back. To repeat, I have no power over this, and I don't appreciate implications otherwise.
But Jingthing, I thought you liked brownie points.

If you say so Thaiquila... :)

Boon Mee, have you been in prison all this time?

At least we have the bloody points recorded on our profile pages for next generation to review.

Good on yah, Greorge. That reputation button thingy is what I call a PROFESSIONAL troll :jap:

It was a good feature but you have sad fuc_kers following you around dumping reds for no reason pertaining to that thread. One should at least have made a comment in a given thread before doing the dirty deed, or at least been around the block a few times. All very girlie on the one hand but slightly irksome on the other.

I guess this 'star' or now defunct 'reputation' system, was all about penis size!

Not sure, but the star thing is like a light beer, the rep system when you added the red love buttons was like HEROIN!

Comments or not, it still would have been abused in exactly the same way, probably even much worse with comments.

This sucks. I had over a 100 green points.

Sure you did. Uh huh. That and 5 dollahs (sic) will get you a latte at Starbucks ...

JT complained do much about it that George pulled it.

I thought about starting a thread demanding that the reds and greens be reinstated. It would be something new to whine about and therefore would probably get a lot of support.

I think I must admit , I miss giving out greens and some reds , now its as boring as it ever was , at least I won't get a red for my comments anymore , so nasty comments will concur again probably on the forum . Still thinking I care or not ?

Are you seriously suggesting the video game eliminated nasty posts? For the record, no it didn't.

I don't bother checking my 'star' rating so I have no idea of my penis size.

Lots of guys don't know their penis size. They haven't seen if for years. Unless of course, they stand on a mirror.:D

Maybe  , but you had something like 200 reds, so your reputation was, at best, minus -100. :D

HELLO! Thats your opinion. Please note, opinions are like <deleted>, everybody has got them.

See you are trying to fill Bendix's shoes. They are some big shoes to fill....

I used to like using the greens. Don't think I ever got to dish out a red. I didn't even realise there were daily limits (unless that was a joke  )

I guess it did make it easier to show approval without having to think of something to say. For some that was probably a blessing. But obviously it turned into a curse...

Seems l am one of the odd ones cos l thought the system was OK. I do not read everything so when scanning l see a post thats been thingy'd l take more time and read. Also Tv has many thousands of members who never post, shy perhaps, but the feature enabled them to agree or disagree very easily.

We all think differently and write an opinion and it was nice to see what the consensus was to your thought without them posting.

Unfortunately the system was abused by a few tossers causing a problem for you know who and a few others, if it wasn't for the tossers the feature would be still there as it did know harm and l am sure the now aggrieved would be happy with their green tally that showed agreement with their offering.

Seems the tossers win which was probably their goal, but what ever we do in life the tossers always come out of the woodwork. :(

Surpised me they get rid of the greenies , why started it in the first place ?

people who abused the system , why not give them a holiday or whatever , as with nasty posts , george himself seemed to enjoy giving out greenies for good posts , maybe just change it a little something like , who abuses it won't be able to use the feature , then Jingting has got a reason to abuse it and stop whining so much . :jap:

all these options ignore the fact that George is probably not a programer and didn't write the code, simply clicked to turn on a feature. The degree of customisation I suspect is quite limited. If there was an option to just turn on the greens and not the reds, that might have solved the problem, but I have no reason to suspect George couldn't have figured that out for himself, had it been available as an option.

The greens were turned on for quite a while before they turned on the reds, so that capability already exists. Don't assume we have seen the last of this feature in some kind of form. It's off now, it could be on at any moment.

As far as moderation, there were no official rules on what defined abuse of the feature, and there was also no capability to turn off the feature for individual users either for "punishment" or by request.

If they ever do bring it back, and if they have more customization power, I would suggest disallowing newbies from using the feature. If not, people can register just to use the play buttons, and never post, not to mention people doing multiple nicks to launch organized attacks or corrupt promotions of specific users.
