Taxi Service: Bkk To Kanchanaburi

Featured Replies

Can anyone recommend a taxi/car service I can book in advance for a trip from Bangkok (central) to Kanchanaburi (River Kwai)?

Preferably one that speaks English.

Also any ideas of price?

Thanks.

My aunt just catches any taxi willing to take her. 1500 baht to Tha Maka, which is about 50 km this side of Muang Kanchanaburi. You can book one from a travel agent in advance, or book from the airport or hotel. The latter 2 will overcharge.

Take the bus from the south east station. It's almost as fast and much cheaper... about 100 baht as compared to 1500 to 3000 baht for a taxi. There are small vans that operate between the two destinations, and are cheaper, but I can't describe how to find them.

You could try hel_l Fire Tours or a "tour type" taxi, PM me for details of either.

We just took a normal taxi 1,400THB the return journey was even cheaper 1,250THB

1)Hel_lfire tours is a solid operation run by a westerner. It is a decent way to go.

2) Bus from southern bus terminal is quite inexpensive.

3) The train goes there, but I read in the paper recently that flooding has led to a temporary closure of the line

4) You can get a van from Victory monument for a decent price.

5) Many Bangkok taxi drivers will take you. Rates are posted in the car, or ask for a card.

ive always book in advance with Mr Toom [email protected]

for taxi's to and from the airport for the the last 6 years, never let me down, even when ive been for stuck for hours waiting for my baggage at the airport,
