The owner of this Bangkok Thai Restaurant has reluctantly sanctioned the sale of the business as she needs to care of her sick son. Good repeat trade has been built up since the business opened earlier this year, mainly due to the fact that the restaurant is the only air-conditioned one in the neighbourhood. The customer base is quite well heeled and to date has consisted of around 70 percent middle to high class local diners, while 30 percent have been a mixture of foreign nationalities. The restaurant is surrounded by large apartment blocks and housing estates, and these provide many of the customers. There are also several small companies, a car dealership and a hospital within walking range, as well as two BTS Skytrain stations. A delivery service has been established, but the restaurant is currently only operating during daylight hours from Monday to Saturday. Early results are therefore good if not spectacular, with monthly receipts of around 75,000 baht yielding net profits of 18,000 baht or so. Monthly rent of just 6,000 baht is payable.
