Famous monk, former wife have Bt40 million: DSI

The Department of Special Investigation (DSI) has already found that Phra Pramote Pramocho, who is now embroiled in a scandal, and his former wife have had more than Bt40million in cash and government bonds.

Most of the cash and bonds are under the name of the former wife, Oranuch Santayakorn. She has now lived as a nun in Suan Santidham, the monastery founded by Phra Pramote.

DSI has launched a probe against them after some of the monk's followers lodged a complaint accusing him of misusing donations given.

To many, it is a big question as to why Oranuch has been allowed to manage the fund single-handedly.

The probe by DSI is now ongoing.
