The Event

Featured Replies

Having heard good things about this show and the rumours it was a precursor to a disclosure announcement I downloaded it and gave it a whirl. I downloaded the first 4 episodes. I gave up after the second one. The storyline is a cracker but the layout of the show and the editing are horrendous. Even down to 30 minutes into the show and I am still getting credits on the screen. Also the way it jumps about made for no continuity. One minute you are in the present then 3 days later then 16 months later then 5 years later. As said a good idea spoilt by some crazy, mad editing.

A shame really

Been waiting to watch this on cable but after reading your post I've just downloaded first 2 episodes. Still got high hopes

It's actually very good science fiction with twists and turns and, so far no real idea of who is the good guy and who is the bad guy. It bounces backwards and forwards in time, often years, but obviously and not designed to confuse. I wondered whether the missus opened the thread because she asks me every five <deleted>' minutes what's happening, but she does that with Tom & Jerry too! My first sarky post on this thread reflected that. Sorry OP.

I am quite capable of following what is going on but just find the constant jumping about rather annoying and distracts from the story line. If they just stuck to a normal format then they would I am sure have a blockbuster on their hands as it is it will probably be gone after the first series.

As said a shame
