simon43
Although I live in Thailand, work now takes me regularly out of the country. So a multiple entry, non-immigrant O visa is fine for me. I'm currently on a 30-day tourist stamp (because I am spending more time in Laos/Cambodia than Thailand). But this stamp expires at the end of this month and I intend to go to Penang and ask for a 1-yesr multi O. I am married in Thailand and have a son here. I have 400,000 baht in my bank account. If I take marriage/birth/bank documents etc, should this suffice to obtain the visa? Note that my 400k baht has only been in my bank account for 1 month. Are there any other documents that I should take which could persuade the Thai consulate to grant me a visa? Thanks Simon
Mario2008
Penang is not cetain for a multiple, better bet is KL. Kl will issue on proof of 100,000 in the bank, no ned to season the money. Doesn't even have to be in Thailand. Will need copy of ID of wife and her tabien baan. A nice note from the misses asking for a visa for you will also help. steve187
why not get a 60 day extension to visit thai wife, and allow 400.000 baht to season and then get a one year thai wife extesion, with a multi re-entry permit.
simon43
Mario2008's suggestion sounds the best route for me. I'll try for KL Simon
