he's just horrific. utterly shameless.

I am into my fantasy football.

Almost every site I play. Supposedly names of teams are to be kept inoffensive, though there are many many that sail a bit close to the wind.

I joined the World Cup one recently, run by UEFA. Friend of mine entered a team and named it ''That Crook Blatter"

His team was disqualified within 30 minutes of him registering!!!!cheesy.gif

True story!! He has that much insulation around him, with everybody getting a piece of the pie!!

Scum bag

Emirates have already withdrawn their sponsorship and now its reported that Sony are also pulling their 280m. Coca Cola releasing statement saying they are disappointed with further corruption allegations....

If the downfall of FIFA is to happen then its begins with the financing being pulled. lets just hope!

Let's hope we see a further exodus of the corporate rats. Of course, they don't give a darn about the corruption and fraud per se, but for publicity reasons would like to create some distance. coffee1.gif If that helps in pulling the rug out from under Blatter and his venal cronies so much the better IMHO.

great lad sepp. great, great lad.

Sepp Blatter: Qatar World Cup workers’ welfare is not Fifa’s responsibility
• Companies ‘are responsible for their workers’
• Hundreds have died on building projects

http://www.theguardian.com/football/2014/dec/02/sepp-blatter-fifa-responsibility-workers-qatar-world-cup

Sepp Blatter said that the welfare of migrant workers involved in building facilities for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar was the responsibility of the companies who hired them, not Fifa.

Speaking during a visit to Sri Lanka, the Fifa president said the workers were employed by companies from Germany, France and other European countries and “they are responsible for their workers and not Fifa”.

Blatter also said the workers were enjoying “better conditions” due to the World Cup.

Qatar has come under increasing scrutiny over its labour practices since Fifa awarded it the right to host the tournament. The wealthy OPEC nation relies heavily on migrant workers drawn mainly from South Asia to build its roads, skyscrapers and stadiums.

A series of stories in the Guardian showed that migrant workers from Nepal, India, Sri Lanka and elsewhere were dying in their hundreds.

Many more were injured in workplace accidents, some left trapped with no passport or insurance, and huge numbers toiled in extreme heat for low wages and lived in inhumane conditions.

The government confirmed in a report that 964 workers from Nepal, India and Bangladesh had died while living and working in the Gulf state in 2012 and 2013.

He should take it to the Swiss coppers for a start.

But they'll probably make him sign a NDA and give him a fat cheque. We'll see how ethical is he if he's offered one of those.

Its wonderful isn't it the way that FIFA and Sepp seem to have placed themselves above the law.

They just don't seem to give a damn who finds out what. When will football nations unite to rid FIFA from the sport, once and for all?

Because most of the football nations are united in (and addicted to) taking backhanders and freebies from Sepp in plain brown envelopes, and will do whatever he asks.

every football association do the same thing, get money and distribute it, the English fa do it to clubs, counties ect ect no different.

A similar report in today's Guardian (http://www.theguardian.com/football/2014/dec/17/michael-garcia-resigns-fifa-ethics-committee) also has this quote:

Garcia’s appeal was rejected on procedural grounds, with the Fifa appeals committee arguing that Eckert’s summary was an opinion rather than a judgment and as such there was nothing to appeal against.

So Eckert's judgement, the one that FIFA acted upon, was only his personal opinion and can't be questioned......................you couldn't make it up could you.

Are any national football associations standing up to be counted. Atlas the English FA has been a little vocal but who's backed them? With all thats known already and now with this farcical episode leading up to Garcia's resignation theres easily enough dirt to start a breakaway with the support of world footballs main sponsors. Sadly it just seems the collective FA's are happier just to keep taking the Blatter coin.

Maybe some of the less corrupt nations should be doing a bit of collective flag waving - there are some reasonable sized players in the top ranks

Taking Transparency International's latest rankings:

1 Denmark

[2 New Zealand

3 Finland]

4 Sweden

5= Norway

5= Swizerland (! Blatter must be the reason they are not No 1 !)

8 Netherlands

[10 Canada]

11 Australia

12 Germany

14 UK

17 USA

Maybe Italy (69) would not want to join in. Thailand (156) would need tea money*tongue.png

*Singapore No 7 btw

Of the FIFA Executive from 2010 only thirteen (of the current twenty five) remain (and Blatter is trying to insist only that thirteen can vote on whether Garcia's report is made public).

Of that thirteen, three are already under investigation by Garcia and the Ethics committee....................they are Spain's Angel Maria Villar Llona, Michel D'Hooghe from Belgium and Worawi Makudi from Thailand.

I think Worawi has already had more than his fair share of tea moneybiggrin.png wai2.gif . He's that good at it he's giving Blatter lessonswhistling.gif

Get in there David! News that David Ginola, sponsored by bookmaker Paddy Power, will offer up his candidacy for FIFA presidency today, subject to a few conditions. Now, he's got as much chance of becoming the guvnor as I have of becoming the Pope, but it's refreshing that someone has thrown his hat into the ring who real football fans can relate to.

The more hats that get thrown into the ring only benefits Blatter as his cronies will stand firm and the other candidates will be divided over the scraps.

How this devious little man can be head of one of the worlds biggest, if not the biggest organisation, is a sad refection on the world football community.

With many ex international players , managers and administrators etc out there you would think someone with stature would put his hand up and I don't include Ginola in that bracket.

Why is it that the good die young and yet...........

Would a moderator please move this post to another forum, as this has nothing to do with football and is a theological question.

It was more of a rhetorical question than a theological question Oldgit. The "and yet......" at the end meant I didn't really expect an answer. The underlying question I was asking was that Blatter is a crook and although he is 78/79 he doesn't look like he will be leaving football to try and heal itself from the damage he has caused, until he is in his grave. Sorry for any confusion.
