Actress fined for porn film performance

BANGKOK: -- A well-known actress and model was yesterday given a suspended jail term and ordered to pay a fine of Bt4,000 for appearing in an illegal pornographic film distributed on the black market between 2002 and last year.

Accompanied by a woman she described as her lover, Kesarin "Nong Nat" Chaichalermphol reported at Dusit police station police on Friday night to face charges relating to her appearance in a hard-core film with a Japanese actor.

After taking her statement, police granted her bail of Bt20,000 pending the court hearing. The Dusit Municipal Court handed down its verdict after the actress entered her guilty plea.

"I thank reporters for foregoing their sleep on Friday in order to cover my case. As it is now over, I hope everyone will leave me alone as I want to stay at home with my girlfriend," she said.

The court commuted the jail term of six months to a suspended sentence citing her cooperation and clean record.

It also ordered her to report to a probation officer every three months for a year.

The police were tipped off about Kesarin's saucy antics after fans posted messages on Internet chat rooms commenting on the fact that she was a porn star before she shot to fame as a model and television actress.

Her movie became one of the best-selling sex films from underground vendors after police began investigating her.

The actress managed to put off her date with police for months citing legal technicalities and various personal reasons.

Her case drifted out of the spotlight until questions were raised about her after a recent police campaign to crack down on magazines featuring illegal male nud_e photographs.

With renewed interest in the case, she decided to confront her accusers rather than dodge her alleged offences.

Emerging from the court after the hearing, she said she wanted to live in peace and out of the media spotlight.

Who cares about whether she appeared in a porn movie or not?

I guess, because she's a bit of a celebrity now, then she'll inevitably attract this kind of attention. If you're an unknown wannabe, then you have little to lose appearing in skin flicks - but when "fame" and "celebrity" knocks on the door - then there's always going to be someone ready and willing to drag up your past and advertise it to all and sundry.

The above story reflects the true hypocrisy that exists in Thai society. O.K. to go after some two bit actress with a sordid past , but not O.K. to clamp down on the massive prostitution that exists here, with all it's attendant corruption and abuse of state laws.

I actually did pass by her when i was in Japan last year.....She was doing some shopping....couldnt belives my eyes it was her...LOL but anyway she got a very sweet smell of perfume... :D

Is she the only Thai Porn Star ??? Ive seen there is a lot of them and its not only her...But why didnt the boys in brown get ther others too ??? :o

I reckon with a good lawyer she might have got off. This "offence" was probably committed in Japan and there are no witnesses or evidence other than the disk itself which she neither manufactured nor distributed. It looks like she just pleaded guilty to get it all behind her.

I think she was procecuted because she was underged at the time of filming.(I think you must be over 20 yo,but not sure.) It is not illegall to own porn,Just illegal it to distubite it...or so i've been told :D:o

Is it illegal to view porn, whether on video or on the internet, and what if you have nud_e pictures/videos on your PC of say your wife/gf with her consent and the police confiscate your PC for whatever reason, would they be able to charge you?

From what I know and have read.legal to own, illegal to distribute.There was a recent case involving a Gay Travel Tour company and the person was "suspected" of organising underage tours etc.The BIB grabbed his his PC and found porno images,but could not proscecute.Becase this person also distributed a magazine with very, very softcore porn...they were able to get him on that.Well that's what I remember.

I also know a bloke that had just divorced his Thai wife and was scared of any comeback from her, because he had some old porno CD's somewhere in his house that he couldn't find.His lawyer told him that he had no worries at all in this regard if the BIBs knocked on his door and did a search of his house etc

I'm sure Mom and Pops certainly loss loads of face seeing their beautiful actress daughter appearing in a VCD seen by about half the Thai population getting shagged condomless in all positions by a foreign bloke.

I'm guessing the guy took some viagra, along with applying a desensitizer, as most guys wouldn't have lasted more than 5 minutes with this beautiful sex machine.

Apparently she's now flipping a bird at society by appearing on page 1 of newspapers hand-in-hand with her Tom girlfriend.

I'm not criticizing the girl as what she did is her business, and it was a FINE performance, in my books. However, it is unfortunate her family must absorb the shame of the publicity.

For starring in a porn movie, she certainly wasn't underage. I've seen at least one of her films, its nothing bad really, just two people having sex.

Probably some moral law, doesn't really matter here; as they tend to make it up as they go along.

Well if that was the case, is there a law that states that people acting in porn movies must be above 20? And shouldn't she then be considered the victim, rather than the perpetrator?

Or, if as another poster here stated, it is against the law to produce a porn movie. does that mean that videoing yourself with your wife having a go at it (for personal use) is against the law? Or is it the selling/distribution of pornographic material that is a law against? If so, what was then her crime?

Just doesn't seem to make any sense....

D@mn - I just forgot where I am.......................... :o
