You know the way all off-the-peg shirts are baggy straight up-and-down nowadays? Cheap to sew but makes tucking-in awkward, and they fail to follow the shape of the torso. Unlike the fashion sheep I want to do something about it, namely to put darts in some made-to-measure shirts, as well as adding them to existing ones. So, what is the Thai word for 'darts', meaning a series of sewn folds in the back of a shirt to shape it to the body? And the word or expression for 'to contour' or 'shape-to-form'? Thanks.

For tapering tuck stitched into a garment the T/E dictionary says เกล็ด/รอยจีบ glate/royjeep both are nouns; in dressmaking circles they will know. The RID has เกล็ดเสื้อ glate ?? (Thai word for upper body clothing.) .

I see you have added. you will have no problem at the roadside or in a shop. For 'form-following' 'fit' will do.
