Guidelines set for war against poverty Guidelines have been set for the campaign to eradicate poverty, a government source said yesterday. They would be implemented by a national poverty eradication centre to be headed by Deputy Prime Minister Chavalit Yongchaiyudh. The guidelines are _ setting up a leading organisation to work on strategies; restructuring rural and urban development plans to confirm to the sustainable development policy and the national economic and social development and national security plans; grouping all problems faced by poor people into categories and assigning agencies to fix them; brainstorming ideas from the government and private sectors and encouraging public participation; legal steps against those who take advantage of the poor; lifting awareness of poverty issues and possible solutions; seeking cooperation from all people and organisations and neighbouring countries.
