MEXICO CITY (BNO NEWS) -- Suspected drug cartel members stormed a car wash in the western Mexican city of Tepic on Wednesday morning, killing fifteen people and injuring several others, local police said.

According to local police officials, the group of drug cartel hit men arrived in two cars at around 10 a.m. local time and opened fire at the car wash, killing 15 people who were working there. Three other workers sustained injuries in the attack.

The casualties were identified as patients from a nearby rehab clinic who worked at the car wash, which is located in the city of Tepic in Nayarit state. It happened just a day after other suspected drug cartel members killed a man outside the same car wash.

It also happened just three days after another bloodbath, possibly related to drug cartels' violence, when suspected drug cartel members burst into a drug rehabilitation center in the northwestern city of Tijuana, killing 13 people.

And last Friday, a carnage in Ciudad Juarez left 14 people killed when gunmen stormed a house where people were celebrating at a birthday party.

Some 25,000 people have died in drug-related violence after a military campaign against drug cartels was launched by President Felipe Calderon at the end of 2006.
