BEIJING, CHINA (BNO NEWS) -- China's Vice Foreign Minister <deleted> Ying said that China and France expect to sign agreements on nuclear energy and aviation in the upcoming visit of President Hu Jintao.

President Hu will visit France and Portugal from November 4 to 11. So far, China and France have conducted fruitful cooperation in civilian nuclear energy and aviation, such as the Daya Bay Nuclear Power Station in southern Guangdong province and the Airbus 320 Final Assembly Line in Tianjin.

Vice Foreign Minister <deleted> added that China is willing to expand its nuclear and aviation cooperation with France due to the positive experiences and attitudes demonstrated in the past. The two nations are also discussing new ways to expand cooperation in these fields.

<deleted> assured that the current unrest in the French population would not affect the arranged schedule of president Hu. France is currently in the midst of nationwide strikes and protests against the pension reform bill.

During his visit, Hu will meet with French President Nicolas Sarkozy, Prime Minister Francois Fillon and other French leaders to promote the long-term and stable development of the China-France comprehensive strategic relations.

"China is satisfied with the overall development of bilateral relations, but we believe that our ties should reflect the change of the times," <deleted> added.

The Chinese government expects that the talks with France will promote bilateral trade and investment in achieving new progress in the economic field. The Chinese-European Union relations and cooperation at global level will also be discussed by both leaders.

Sarkozy and Hu will exchange views on the upcoming Seoul summit and the future development of the G-20 mechanism as France will take over the chair of the G-20 group of leading economies next November.

In Portugal, Hu will meet with Portuguese President Anibal Cavaco Silva and Prime Minister Jose Socrates and other leaders. They will discuss expanding cooperation in trade, investment, infrastructure construction, new energy and cultural exchanges.
