astral
I have two Seagate external disks, each with an autorun.inf file, empty BTW Everytime I mount the disk my Avira antivirus objects to the file. I have tried deleting the file and it seems to disappear then a few minutes later Avira is objecting again and the file is back. All very iritating. How to get rid of the damned thing, or alternatively tell Avira to ignore it. All advice welcome Thanks
Supernova
A possible sign of infection... Autorun.inf should not be created by any process unless you put it there. Even if your system is 'clean', I suggest you disable Autorun anyway since it's often used as an attack vector for malware.
