Urgently Needed! Assistant Editor

Job Description

• Regularly generating, and encouraging writers and reporters to generate, ideas for high-impact news coverage, breaking news, story packages, analyses and original insights
• Managing a team of reporters, editors, photographers, copy editors and production personnel to work within timeframe
• Research/write/copyedit travel articles, advertorials, and news for the magazine both printed and online edition and its supplements
• Manage press releases, story pitches, determination of future editorial
• Create and update an ongoing list of public relations personnel and media contacts
• Developing and maintaining, in consultation with the Editorial Director, a clear strategy for continuously improving the overall quality and impact of content in Tropical Magazine, both printed and digital edition

Qualification

• Native English with editing / writing background
• Bachelor's / Master's degree in journalism, communications, or related fields
• Ability to demonstrate outstanding communication skills which include a thorough command of the English language, spelling, writing and grammar
• Editorial experience for 3-5 years with In-depth knowledge of publication production.
• Ability to work as a team member in a fast-paced environment
