UK Fiancee Visa Questions

Recommended Posts

Hi ,

Just a couple of questions RE the UK Fiancee visa (Settlement) which myself and my Finacee will be applying for in Jan 2011.

We have just about finalised the application and sponsor evidence , this site has been a great help , thanks for everybodys input..

1) We plan to submit the Application on the 4th January whilst I'm in Thailand, but before we submit the application will my GF have to have the TB test and Police Checks, do we have to make appointments for this.

2) With regards to to the new language rule which comes into operation on 29/11/2010 , will my GF have to do this for a fiancee visa or will this test have be done before the application for FLR.

Cheers

Dave

yes you will have to get a X ray for TB clearance to submit with the Visa application. Police Checks not required. I do believe the Language test will be required because the Fiancee Visa is for settlement

maybe others will on to confirm

My gf went the just gone, booked one day...test and results a day later.

Police check here (although you don't need it)

I told my gf that she doesn't need the Police Clearance but she want's to get one anyway :whistling:

So, she went last week and the officer told her it takes about 10 days...Tea/coffee money was offered to speed it up..but apparently they're not very thirsty

However, she got a phone call on Friday saying they need an "invite letter" from me (I think they make the rules up as they go along???)

The gf is going there tomorrow with a couple of paragraphs I've just emailed her. I'll report back on how she get's on.

Oh, and yes your gf/fiancee will have to do a test at "A1 Level"....read the other threads...it will become clear as mud ;)

Well, she went to Special Branch this morning.

Apparently the "rules" have recently been changed so that she now needed to show copies of my passport - pages with my photo and details, and an invite letter (she said it's something to do with "human trafficking"...or some Thai girl getting murdered???)

Anyway, even she was shocked when the Police Officer said there was no "Express Service" available ;)

"FIrst time in Thailand" she said... :o:lol:

The waiting time on the Special Branch website says 7 days, she was told 10-15 days. Application was free.

Hope that helps.

P.S. Just noticed the link above:

Is for Foreign National's wanting Police Clearance but I think the procedure is same.
