I would like to know if it is possible to transfer money from a Thai bank to a bank in Europe and also if there is a maximum amount in cash (Euros) per person that can be taken through at Bangkok airport

There is no problem transferring funds between Thailand and Europe through the Banking system. You need to provide evidence of how the money was earned or that it was originally brought into Thailand along with your identification documents..

As to the amount being taken out in cash I am unsure of the regulation as it does appear to change from time to time. You will no doubt be required to declare it as you enter the country of your destination as you are if you are bringing in cash to this country. Each country has its own limit.

Unless you have evidence that you brought in this amount they make it difficult. If you're married it's easy. Or, if you're returning to your country just take travellers Cheques, take as much as you want. No prob.

Good luck

The major bank branches that have intl remittance services also issue travelers cheques; the one I use is at Bangkok Bank on the second floor of their HO building on sillom rd
