the daughter of the best friend of my wife had a bad accident. She have a skull fracture and now she become additional a infection and her hole head is thick swollen. The doctors here in Buri Ram don't know what to do and only observe her. They told her brain is dead, and when they stop the breathing she die. But when we touch her hand she reacted on questions. We search a hospital in Bangkok who can treat this and where she not have to pay alone, because we have only the money to pay for convict her to Bangkok.

Hello.

sounds bad, this happened to a staff member of a freind in Samui, he managed to get her to a good hospital and she lived, but I do think it cost him. maybe you can speak to the doctors and ask if they can transfer her to a better hospital in Bangkok which can take better care of her. it might cost for transport but the hospital should still come in under her 30 baht scheme or whatever it is.

The problem with skull fractures is that the brain may be bleeding and swell. CAT scan or MRI only can tell. And that's expensive. And maybe your hospital does not have this equipment. And if there is bleeding and swelling, a hole must be drilled to let the pressure out. But is transport to Bangkok save?

My son fell from a ladder and fractured his skull. He was in ICU for 3 days and CAT scan was done. Fortunately there was no bleeding or swelling and after 5 days he could go home. We had to pay around 50,000 THB for everything at Ramkhamhaeng hospital.

Good luck to your friend's daughter.

No, such a equipment they dont have here. I also don't know if a transport to Bangkok is save, but i think its better then nothing.

Here they told us that she have a infection in her head and about this the head swelling. I'm no doctor and i also don't know what is good

or not. I only think what happens when I'm in a situation same her and they only observe it and make nothing more.

She definitely needs to get to a hospital equipped with at least a CAT scan and with skilled neurosurgeons. It is possible to relieve pressure on the brain through making simple burr holes into the skull, but need to do a scan first to know where to drill, and of course need surgeons skilled in the procedure.

I believe both are available at Kon Kaen University Hospital which would be a lot closer than Bangkok. Should insist on transferring her there. If it is necessary for the family to pay for the transfer (as she would need to go by ambulance with medical attendants) I don't think it would cost all that much.

KKU Hosp is a government hospital so care there should be covered under the government scheme.

Don't delay.

thanks for your message. I attempt to convinced the mother of the girl, but she decide to wait for the result of the treatment with medicine by the doctors at the Buri Ram Hospital. They told her that they want to try it some days and maybe they don't have to operate. I can't force the mother.
