Thai Ladies Hair Loss

Featured Replies

Hi all

My friend like me living in the UK has a Thai wife and her hair is getting thinner and lifeless since she has lived here ,, she blames the hard water ,, but then it would affect everyone I think ,, does anyone have any tips I can pass on to her regarding this ?? or is this a common problem for thais living abroad ? Funny thing is I also have a thai friend living in Germany with the same problem ,,,,,, any help appreciated

Nothing to do with the hard water, hair loss for Asian woman is largely genetic.

Started with thinning hair and after hair lost, Asian hair lost seen much faster then caucasions because of the hair follicles (with Asian complete round) and fewer hairs by sq cm.

There are some shampoo's and hair growth boosters to help ruduce the hair loss and offcourse hair transplants.

I would advice your GF to consult a hair specialist first.

Good luck,

NFS

get a full hormone blood test panel. Estrogen dominance can cause that.

Various supplements like Diindolylmethane (DIM) and the drug Anastrozole can improve overall estrogen metabolism.

If you don't find a doctor in Thailand who specializes in hormones then can join the Life Extension Foundation in the US and submit your tests and they will review them with you and offer supplement and treatment options. For a prescription medicine you will still need a local doctor to write the script but knowing what you want makes it a lot easier.

LEF - female hormone restoration

it can really work. Sure a person could chalk it up to genetics but genetic predisposition to hormone inbalance can be managed and improved greatly.

Good luck

a combintion of

different food , less sunshine , stress of living in a foriegn country.

missing mama,, and chickens :jap:

way more stressful for women than men. have noticed quite a few thai ladys right here with thinning hair. Must be genetic as already mentioned

Sounds a bit unlikely, but do a search on 'trichotillomania'. It's a stress related condition where people compulsively play with and pull out their own hair. The few people I've known with this condition are westerners and have high levels of stress.
