Former Alaska Governor Palin believes she can beat President Obama in 2012

WASHINGTON, D.C. (BNO NEWS) -- Former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin has proclaimed that she could beat U.S. President Barack Obama in the 2012 presidential elections.

During an interview with ABC's Barbara Walters, Palin said that she is "looking at the lay of the land now, and trying to figure that out, if it's a good thing for the country, for the discourse, for my family, if it's a good thing."

Walters asked her if she could you beat Barack Obama. "I believe so," the 2008 Republican vice-presidential nominee said.

Earlier, Palin told the New York Times that she is considering a run for the presidency. "I'm engaged in the internal deliberations candidly, and having that discussion with my family, because my family is the most important consideration here," Palin told NYT reporter Robert Draper.

"I know that a hurdle I would have to cross, that some other potential candidates wouldn't have to cross right out of the chute, is proving my record," the former Alaska governor told Draper.

"That's the most frustrating thing for me -- the warped and perverted description of my record and what I've accomplished over the last two decades. It's been much more perplexing to me than where the lamestream media has wanted to go about my personal life. And other candidates haven't faced these criticisms the way I have," she said.

In the most recent Gallup poll about the 2012 Republican presidential candidate, Palin tied with former Arkansas governor Mike Huckabee for second place with 16 per cent support, both behind former Massachusetts governor Mitt Romney with 19 percent of support.

I do not think that she is as stupid or as mad as she has been made out to be, but she has no real qualifications and quitting her job as governor makes her chances even worse.

The "lame-stream media" has indeed distorted her character and convinced everyone she is a buffoon, but if she runs for President, she will be proving them right. :annoyed:

No she can't, not since the Emancipation Proclamation of 1863.

She is not stupid or mad. She does make Bush look like a Rhodes scholar though. She is aggressively anti-intellectual and her ascendency would be a tragedy for the US and the world.

If Obama was a patriot he would announce he isn't running in 2012.

That way he could concentrate on governing for the next 24 months instead of running for re-election.

I am not holding my breath.

I agree he won't do that and I agree if he did that MIGHT allow the government to focus on actual problems other than politics. Key word -- might. Reality -- probably not. Obama is president of the United States. He is a patriot whether he runs in 2012 or not.

Well with Sarah we could count on repeal of the Marxist polices of the current administration.

Marxist, eh? Like the huge tax cuts in the Obama stimulus package (representing one third of the cost of it)? Like the "socialist" health care plan that, let me check, isn't socialist at all and doesn't even include a public option? Your terminology is terminally absurd. Leave Marx out of it and introduce yourself to right wing America, where centrist translates as communist.

I found this article amusing. Like I said, she isn't stupid, just scary.
