Pattaya To Trat

Featured Replies

I want to go to Trat for a visa but don't want to take one of those mini bus services as i will have girl in tow and wouldn't mind staying overnight.

Is there any service from Pattaya bus terminal or do i have to travel to Bangkok and get another bus from there?

Any useful suggestions appreciated?

Tolley, No need to go to Bangkok. You get a bus from Sukhumvit to Chantaburi and then one to Trat. Dont think there is a direct bus Pattaya to Trat. From Trat its another hour to the border. By car its at least a 4 hour trip so with waiting for connections your in for a long trip.

Another option for a visa run by public bus would be to get the bus to Makduhan which leaves from the Bangkok bus terminal on Pattaya Nua and get off at Aranya Prathet and take a tuk tuk to the Poipet border.

Would go for the car option if you are bringing GF.

There are some nice small resorts a couple of minutes drive from the border (think the name of the town is Klong Yai :o ) Did this myself and had a nice quiet time. The resorts are Thai-style but nice and clean..

The Bangkok to Trat bus stops at Pattaya at the bust stop outside the 7/11 shop almost opposite the junction of Pattaya Tai and Sukhumvit Road. It stops at 6:30am. get there at 6am. just to be on the safe side.
