Non Imm O Renewal With New Passort?

Featured Replies

Australian Passport expires June 2011

Non Imm O expires Apr 2011

To renew the Non Imm O I need a passport valid for more than 6 months.

The twist, I leave Thailand for XMas hols Dec through March.

What is the best way to juggle all this and not mess it up? Anyone know?

To renew your non-O you don't need a passport validity of at least 6 months, you need at least 6 months validity to ENTER Thailand.

You can either get a new passport in Thailand before you travel and have the stamps transferred to the new passport or get a new passport while you are in Australia. In that case you will need to come back with both old and new passport and make sure that your page with permission to stay and the re-entry permit you need are not being made invalid.

They will then transfer the stamps to the new passport either at the airport or advice you to go to your immigration office for the transfer.

Are you asking about a one year extension of stay from Immigration or a multi entry non immigrant O visa from a Consulate?

Marios' answer has covered it and I happened to be out at Immigration today and TW did a double check with them, and they have the same story. Thank you for your reply, it's nice to know that TV isn't all bad.
