Indonesian man arrested for sexually abusing 12 boys

JAKARTA, INDONESIA (BNO NEWS) -- Indonesian authorities on Wednesday arrested a 46-year-old man for allegedly sexually abusing 12 boys near an internet cafe in the southern area of Jakarta, officials said.

Police said Taviv Sunaryo later admitted to his acts following his arrest, saying that he would pay the boys, aged 9 to 16, around Rp 20,000 ($2.22) for them to give him oral sex. In other occasions, he would only pay their bills at the internet cafe.

Sunaryo, however, in his statements declared to be heterosexual, married, and father of a child.

"I never sodomized them, I just asked them to give me oral sex," Sunaryo stated to police. "I'm a straight man. I’m married and have one child but my wife lives in a remote village. I did it out of lust," he added.

The arrest came after one of the boys confessed to his parents that he had been abused.

Local authorities are currently conducting an ongoing investigation related to the case.
