Hahahahaha,

Here is a good one. I was contacted by them late yesterday and told that The branch needed me to return the keys for the desk I used in Rangsit Branch before they will consider anything. Now I have to tell you these are small desk keys and last week when I was teaching 14 Prathom 2 students they key was hanging out of the lock and one of the kids pushed against it and it broke off in the lock but you can still open it. Now here is an email I just recieved from them;

Tim, I've checked with branch about the keys. One key was broken.

It was reported to the account department. They may deduct 30 Bht.

for the broken key.

Just do not do anything stupid, K?

You are no longer under their umbrella of protection or grace.

Come January, if you still can not find anything half way decent according to your likings, pm me.

There are English teaching jobs across the country for qualified and certified educators with genuine VERIFIABLE degrees and certifications.

Just say, you have been offered a free room and free meals in January, if needed.

My response is in blue.

Unless there is some hidden secret message here I am not quite following your posts? My I adress your last reply in Red font;

Just do not do anything stupid, K?

I'm sorry but I do not get what your saying? What could I do that would be stupid?

Normally, this is a statement of encouragement urging a person to stay on the sanity side of human issues and refrain from injurious attempt of any kind and sort.

You are no longer under their umbrella of protection or grace.

This I also do not get? I was never under anyones umbrella of protection or grace.

While you were under contract, you were at the employer's grace and umbrella, were you not? They should provide you with guidance and such, did they not?

Come January, if you still can not find anything half way decent according to your likings, pm me.

Thank you but who are you? Are you able to get me a job? I could do with one now.

Who am I? I wonder often times myself, who I really am? What would a man approaching three scores and ten be doing anything, worth anything, in Thailand really?

Are you able to get me a job? I could do with one now.

Just for your info, no one ever got my any job whether overseas or here in Thailand. I went after each job myself which I deemed qualified and personally challenging and exciting. I only have had three kinds of job in my entire life. And I am still holding on to two of them with renewing energy and excitement each day.

No, I would definitely not be getting you or any one any job, unless of course you want to be indebted to me the rest of your earthly life like the Thai politicians.

If you want a job and if you need the job, you yourself got to go after that job with all you got.

You need to arm yourself with all verifiable credentials, certifications and job appraisals, if any, from previous employers.

An English teacher had just been fired two weeks ago, because he came to class with alcohol under his breath.

There are English teaching jobs across the country for qualified and certified educators with genuine VERIFIABLE degrees and certifications.

Yes there are many websites posting these jobs and normally how I find them however you can see in my post that I have just moved back from Sakon Nakhon in the north and set myself up here. It is not that easy just to keep packing all of my belongings and moving around the country with no money.

The possible teaching opening would be around a small southern SAFE town. There are many other professionals Farangs living around here too. But we all are self-starters and blended in perfectly cause we all do not lean on others except when there is a problem then we would gather around a dining table to help each other resolved whatever difficulties or problems.

You'll get a traveling expense as loan with no interest, but you need to pay back starting from your second paycheck.

Just say, you have been offered a free room and free meals in January, if needed.

Who am I supposed to say this to? Maybe you can explain this quote a little more? It sounds like YOU are making an offer but this is hard to determine.

If you are seriously interested, email me with your personal resume, vista and whatever pertinent, K?

By the way, when you are back on your feet and pay off your personal loan, you are on your own to champion your own course toward your own utopia here or else where, wherever pleases you.

We are glad to be able to help someone who is in need of assistance, particularly those coming to Thailand intending to help the Thais to better themselves in more way than one.

People I need to clarify some things here. First off let me start by saying that there have been so many positive posts here and to all of you good people I really do appreciate the time you are taking to reply and send me info etc on how/where to find work. The world needs more people like you these days and thank you sincerely.

I should however clarify that I am not looking for financial help here (even though I need it) but should make the following statements

  • I have been here in Thailand teaching English for 10 years never leaving so I am very well aware of how to find the jobs and the well known website ajarn.com is always the best way.
  • Yes I could find many jobs here in Thailand however after moving from the North in Sakon Nakhon here to Rangsit to work for this last place that just fired me, as I have posted I have neither the money nor the means to keep moving all of my possessions back and forth across Thailand like this.
  • I need a full time job that is willing to provide a work permit as to keep myself legal here in the LOS, so part time etc does not cut it for me right now.
  • Yes there are some jobs right now that I could take a mini van to every day from Future Park Rangsit and back each day but again right now I have NO money to even think about that. Being diabetic and having NO food also does not give me an energy level right now to be traveling by foot.
  • My Degree has been in the MOE’s system for many years so there is NO problems that way for getting a work permit

Thank you all again for your kind words and offers etc.

Mr. Bluegrass, I am sorry to hear of your recent troubles. Your story reminds me to NOT go teach English in Thailand. While I understand that you have served honorably for 10 years, might it not be time to return to your own country? Might your embassy be able to assist in that?

As a fellow Thai Visa member, it would provide me with some degree of comfort to read in your next post that you are back in Canada with universal health care. Your qualifications are such that it is not necessary for you to live a life in Thailand so close to the edge. Canada's economy is doing quite well these days (especially compared to the U.S.). Good luck.

I get more confused every time I read this thread. I thought that prior to 4 years ago (when his elderly father moved in with him) that the OP worked offshore in "oil and gas."

Time for me to stop checking back into this thread!

I hope everything works out for the OP!

Hello. My embassy told me that they might be able to send me a 1-way ticket back home but could take 5 - 7 weeks to hear back from Ottawa.

I have not lived in Canada for 10 years and have no family, friends or any ties there now so it takes money to get set up there even if they do get me a ticket.

You are correct though that it would be a nice change to be eating good again and having all the bennifits of the health care, dental etc.:)

I am an Engineer as posted earlier and since my fathers passing I have been applying for work world wide and hopefully something will turn up. True I could easily get a job back in Canada as an Engineer but like I say I need the cash to do that.

The Canadian Embassy revokes your passport when you fly back to canada and charges us 300 % interest on the total bill that it cost and keeps your passport until it is paid. They can also stamp in my passoprt that I am unfir to travel and if a compant does want me to work abroad then that is also not a good thing.

Yes I know the economy in the USA is bad. I am selling 2 properties that I own in Florida now and have lowered the price from $299,000.00 USD 2 years ago now to $44,500.00 USD and still no bites.

I do not understand what part is so confusing for this member?

Yes when I came to Thailand 10 years ago there was not a lot of work for a farang Engineer here in Thailand. I got married here and decided to stay so I needed to have an income. I took my T.E.F.L and started to teach English. Over the 10 years I had 2 jobs in the Oil industry here as an Engineer. One as Technical Director for a company in Rayong and the other for "Hand Over Engineer" for a famous Thai Oil company. I also had 1 job in Wales that lasted 3 months.

Now when you finish these types of work you still need to have a visa and income to stay here so I would teach English hoping another job would call.

Since my father passed I am now able to leave Thailand to work abroad and am applying daily. The one thing you are confused with is that I am strictly "ON-SHORE" not "OFF-SHORE".

You see, it is really not that confusing if you enjoy your coffee and take the time to read or ask etc. I hope your ok?

PS; I have been divorsed now for 4.5 years.

This Topic CLOSED. I think the OP's questions have been answered and we are now getting down to the specifics of his life.
