Hi,

I wanted to have a slow drive from Chiang Mai to either Nan or Lampang for a two days tour. Was seeking advice from people here did tour there before. I am expecting a clean and cozy hotel with nice pool, but not too expensive though ( something between 2000 bht per night)

I love taking photographs and love more on nature, night markets, street food, people, waterfalls................ the most important thing is to relax in a clean hotel. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance!

Visited Nan for a few days back in 2008. Stayed in the Dhevaraj hotel. It's fairly basic, but very clean and does have a pool. It's probably the best in the centre of town. The buffet lunch was pretty good - and very popular with the locals. Can't remember how much I paid, but definitely less than 2000 Baht/night.

Eating options in Nan are fairly limited, but there was a really good Italian restaurant in the centre of town and one pretty good Thai restaurant.

I went mostly for the temples, which are beautiful. A few pictures at http://apostcardfromthailand.wordpress.com/2008/10/06/temples-in-nan/

Hi again, i do not agree with the previous post stating that 'Eating options in Nan are fairly limited' i think i lot has developed here in Nan since 2008,there are many good restaurants now to name a few Tonys Place http://www.tonysplacenanthailand.com/ Nan Steak house,Darios and Just jazz. These places cater for Western and Thai visitors and offer real good food locally produced.

If you are into photography as you said then this couldnt be any better for amazing views, stunning temples and panoramic mountain ranges plus the Nan river and more

If you need any help or advice on travelling or staying in Nan you can contact me on my website above.Hope to see you in Nan soon.
