Jai Dee Posted August 22, 2005 Share Posted August 22, 2005 THE PM HAS ORDERED THE SUSPENSION OF COMPENSATION PAY The Prime Minister has ordered the suspension of compensation pay to those affected by the construction of the PhaSakCholsit Dam (เขื่อนป่าสักชลสิทธิ์), and has also asked the Minister of Agriculture to go over compensation details again. Mr. Thaksin Shinawatra stated that the problem of paying compensation to villagers affected by the construction of the PhaSakCholsit Dam was being given to Khunying Sudarat Keyuraphan, the Minister of Agriculture, to handle. The minister has been assigned to inspect the details of the compensation procedure, including how the compensation was received, how land value was gauged, and to coordinate the matter with Mr. Pongpol Adilakesan (ปองพล อดิเรกสาร), the former minister of agriculture. The Prime Minister has also ordered the suspension of the pay process until a conclusion can be reached on how to standardize the compensation rates.
