I did this about ten years ago. I went to the Thai Embassy in Laos and got the O Visa, which was a 30-day visa. When I returned to Thailand, I got a one-year stay extension based on retirement. I've been getting the one-year stay extension ever since and have even switched back and forth between an extension based on marriage and retirement several times. -

400k for 7 months = 37k per month, then you need to put back 400k over 5 months = 80k per month. I would rather do my way, Combo, of 400k in the bank and 35k per month. No thought needed. OK, the 400k (GBP10,000) you are going to pay back could be in a bank account @ 5%?, which is 0.41% for each of the 5 months = GBP 208.33 which you could not get. -

20 ft of red and white paint, and a blue triangular Zebra crossing sign, and lets not even mention the fact that the idiot on the motorcycle is speeding down the wrong side of the road. It's not even legal to make a pass over any Zebra crossing, let alone over a solid yellow line on the opposite side of the road against oncoming traffic. -

Election Commissioners Face Removal Over Senatorial Election Fiasco
Mmmm, but I think that to rerun the Senate election on a proper democratic process (ie the people get to vote) would require the dinosaur-designed Constitution to be redesigned. Which is probably - at this stage - impossible. In any case, removing the 7 EC guys will be a key move in the right direction, if it actually happens. And if it does, what's the next step? Fascinating Thailand. As ever. -
