Next to our house, our neighbor has rented his land and a restaurant/bar business has now been operating for several months. They play music in the evening (recorded and sometime live), and this is an annoying source of "noise pollution" (from 18h00 to 02h00).

Through discussion with the restaurant manager and the local authority, we have been able to negotiate an "almost" livable environment. However, Business is Business and the music volume will keep on increasing to attract customers, it can't be avoided.

I'm looking for hearing from you, innovative ideas/solutions that you may have/think of ... and which should be legal, and beside TIT, Move out, etc ...

So far, we have achieved:

- No more live band (except on special occasions, where a guitar and Singer would perform

- Lower regular noise, so that at least we can sleep

- Contacted Police and Local Authority (Tesaban)

Long term goal is to have the restaurant/bar closed, and like for this kind of business, it will ultimately, I just want to know how I can help the process.

Thailand has no rules, you should have realised they could build nuclear reactor next to you more than likley, i bought a big piece of land its the only real solution, 10 rai i still hear boom boom music sometimes.

Solutions , move , buy it , live with it Or wait for it to go bust...........it will!!

Get yourself the highest wattage power amp and speakers you can afford. Set the speakers up so they are facing the restaurant. Buy a copy of "Never mind the <deleted>" - any self respecting man of taste should already have it on LP and CD though. When ever you feel the noise next door is too loud then let it blast. In the gaps between songs listen to see if next door is any quieter. If it is, turn yours down until theirs goes up again, if not, crank it up a notch. Repeat as necessary. Of course, instead of driving their customers away you may do the opposite and attract a bunch of mohawked Thais, and middle aged farangs, slam dancing against your fence every evening.
