Can anyone help/advise..

Had some problems 10 days ago, ended up running many programs and cleaning the PC, Then updated all hardware drivers and software.

Found out that in cleaning it emptied the backup on another HDD [also have on DVD but cannot run on this mode]

All is well and good but will only now start in a basic mode, and when I close down it deletes everything + setting ??

I have in 'C' drive

[Locked] Temp. User -PC - 000 This is used to open windows now everyday and the date changes each day, and is like a 1st install.. I will inform me that Windows + my Anti Virus updates have been installed.

[Locked] User This has all my Files. Folders, Settings, Desktop, Downloads etc etc in...

How or is there a way to get the PC to start up using this Folder ?

For the past week or so after the PC starts I go into this 'USER' Folder and do everything from there, as it is where all my Programs, Documents and Bookmarks are...

Ir is a pain having to do this + cannot save anything here as it is LOCKED and dated 29-12-2010

I have an unlocked copy om another HDD, and have to try to remember to add any changes to this other HDD

Have spent over a week trying to search all the help pages..

At the end of the week will have some time so if all other option fail will have to reformat 'C' drive and reinstall and hope that works, then reload all my programs form the other HDD.

So really want to know if there is any easy way to get windows to load using 'USER' Files, and NOT this Temp.User-PC-000

Think the problem maybe I used a 'Recovered' Win 7 after a crash in October, with was from my Backup on a different HDD which has been deleted..

'Recovered' Win 7 is the only option when starting the PC.

Edit: A number of website help pages say to other posters to simple Delete this 'Temp. User -PC - 000' and see what happens.. I need the PC and do not have the time to do a reformat for the next 5 days... Has anyone done this ? what happens ?

You can only load windows from wherever the windows boot/startup files are. Sounds like you damaged your copy of windows. Do you have the original install disk? Try booting from the install disk, wait for the install screen, enter your info and hit OK, the next screen will have a "Repair your computer" option. Click it and on the next menu, try running the "Start up repair" option. Once you get your Administrator rights, you might be be to access the locked files.

Hope this helps.

Thanks, already tried that option.. Did not change anything.

Couple of other thing.. Under 'USERS' account in the Control panel my account is set to 'Administrator' on this page it say to use the 'Slandered' but cannot change this..

Looking over the HDD with the back up on, have found a backup Image dated 1.11.2010 File 79 GB, but cannot resort this image to 'C' drive as starts then says error not found.. ? all the other backup images since this date range from 0 to 7 GB so somehow they got deleted in the deep clean..

Busy moving all items to this HDD so will have everything if i must wipe 'C' drive and do a clean install... Yes I have the DVD + genuine key for Windows 7..

Did think about taking my PC to Pantip 2 [Nonthaburi] but feel sure they will only reformat + use some 'copy' + add a load of copy not needed software
