hi i was intending to marry thai girlfriend the a matter of days later apply for the uk settlement visa, someone on this site previously said no problem

i have just read on another site that you have to be married for some period of time, before visa accepted,

if this is true could someone please help, how long do you have to be a couple for? lived together for? might i be worth doing the buddist celebration in thailand where we are married in our eyes, then apply for fiance visa and marry for real(according to authorities) in uk?

help much appreciated, thank you

I prepared all my settlement doks before i went to Thailand , i also booked on line appointment to submit all the settlement docs plus Ex rays and so on, I arrived on the Monday , it took me three days to marry and get the affirmation to marry / chest ex rays done,I submitted my application one week later , and it was approved in time ten weeks later. it can be done just plan your Trip and do your home work , best of luck , PS you can walk in off the street and get married if you have the correct doks, the places can all be accessed from the sky train with out traveling great distances.

May I ask where in BKK did you get married, address, and which BTS Station,

Thanx

You can marry at any Amphur once you have authenticated and had the document stamped. Our service is in Pattaya no need to travel to Bangkok.

When you submit your Affirmation to marry at the Embassy in Bangkok. you can get a taxi from there for about 200 baht to the Amphur, Also when you apply for to get a chest ex ray at the Mo they will give you a map to get to the hospital , again not far. What i did was submit my affirmation to marry , then go and get the chest e xray done, you get them the same day.. you go back the next day to collect your affirmation to marr. after that get married put all your relevant doks in your Visa application file then submit them at the appointed time you would have all ready booked. Many people have done this it sounds daunting but its not .
