If its for tea or coffee, buy an electric water boiler. If it's for pasta, etc., add a little bit of olive oil to the water and then it won't overflow.

I'll plead the 5th.

I was confused by your use of the word 'tea'.

I tried to boil water today but it keeps overflowing the edge of the pot and putting out the gas flame.

Could any of you who actually took the time to respond to the grown man who did not know how to shave without cutting himself, or the guy who did not know how to stop his BO, please advise how to boil water?

Thanks so much. rolleyes.gif

It seems you have already solved your own problem. The water has boiled AND doused the flame, just take pot off the burner and you're ready for your tea/coffee/instant noodles. This way you're already one step ahead of the game next time you want to boil water, provided you survive that long!

I never thought of that! You're right!

Problem solved after only....31 replies!

Now, how does one make instant noodles?

DO NOT POUR THE SACHET OF POISON. Resist all temptation. DISPOSE IMMEDIATELY TO HAZARDOUS WASTE.

Natural ingredients in so far as we can muster.

Boil for about 30 seconds, then leave until a bit softer.

Now take a pan.

'erbs, spices, perhaps shred some ham, Maggi sauce, and beat an egg in there, whisk it all, fried onions.

Oh, don't be. It's rare for an American to mention tea. Although on occasion I've found they make a better cuppa than a limey.

That's because they are still embarassed by the shameful waste of tea that occurred on on a certain December day in Boston...

It's one thing to dodge taxes, but to waste good tea IS A SIN! :redcard1:

I even recently started a thread here on the fine points of brewing tea. When can I expect my knighthood?

Milk in the cup first, tea brewed at an initial 100 degrees centigrade . . . it's quite simple Baron Jing of Thing.

Anybody who messes with a Tea Party, has got to be a terrorist, surely.

Jingthing - if we can arrange with HM for a knighthood for you, will you promise to wear it?

I am not really sure what that would entail exactly.

I'm having trouble eating enough beans to produce the gas necessary to boil water. Besides that, my butt is suffering from all the burns. The blisters are getting annoying.

Just add boiling water. Be careful not to let the water overflow though, it might put out the flame.

Or burn your noodle blink.gif

Maybe they're not blisters; perhaps they are boils.

Hey, whole new thread!

Now that we all know how to boil water (which actually could come in handy for shaving or personal hygiene) anyone out there that can advise Ian how to get rid of boils? Is there a Lance on TV?
