Hi chaps,

I have been in Thailand since Dec 31st 2009 on a one year multi entry non "0" from Hull. Friends and family visa. I believe the friends bit is now stopped on new visas.

I have been doing border runs every 90 days.

I will go back to UK some when this year anyway so will try for another one year non "o" again (assuming the rules don't completely tighten!) when I am there.

I am over 50 so can easily get the retirement visa but although I enjoy the border runs and travelling around sometimes, I know will then get lazy and go nowhere, so am trying to avoid it for as long as possible.

I entered Thailand again on December 12th, two days before the visa was due to expire, and was granted a further 90 days, so will be getting around 15 months total out of this visa.

My question is: When this non "o" visa expires (March) will I be able to get a tourist visa, either single or double entry anywhere?

I am assuming that I will be able to get a double entry at Vientiane and then will return to UK for a short while mid this year.

My passport does not expire until 2013 but has only 3 pages left at the end, two facing blank ones right at the start and two pages with only one or two small stamps on them.

I was thinking to get a new passport when I get back to UK this year at some stage.

A non-O based on retirement should also be an option, single in Asia and might need to show some funds. Hull will give a multiple non-O.

Mario,

With respect, I don't think Hull will now give a Non-O for retirement UNLESS the OP can prove he is receiving an official pension from UK government.

That changed on January 7th along with the availability of Non-O for visiting friends.

Do correct me if I'm wrong but I think that's the case as discussed here:

Believe the requested proof was bank statements so expect any regular income showing in them would suffice. There was no amount required.
