January 21, 201115 yr I have a late model Vios. It runs on Gasohol 91. In my part of the woods there are petrol stations, which have Gasoline 91 and no Gasohol 91. Is it ok to switch to Gasoline 91 now and then, when there is no Gasohol 91 available and change back to Gasohol 91 when available? I know the issue has been beaten to death on various threads, but I'm still confused. Some people tell me I can use any fuel available, others tell me by doing so will do damage to the engine and the seals. Thanks.
January 22, 201115 yr Putting gasohol in a older car not designed for it is the problem and will cause damage.
January 22, 201115 yr Indeed ^^^, but putting regular gasoline in a newer gasohol capable vehicle will cause no problems whatever "I don't want to know why you can't. I want to know how you can!"
January 22, 201115 yr Indeed ^^^, but putting regular gasoline in a newer gasohol capable vehicle will cause no problems whatever Indeed a new Vios can run any LOS petrol/ gasohol or a blend of them, except E85 containing 85% Ethanol a dose of petrol now and then is actually healthy as it lubricates parts in pump/injection system
January 22, 201115 yr a dose of petrol now and then is actually healthy as it lubricates parts in pump/injection system We use gasohol in our VIOS for our weekday "go to work" city driving, and pay the extra for a tank of benzine when we go out of town / highway driving. I notice an improvement in performance which makes a long trip more entertaining, and provides a little more "confidence" when extra power is wanted (needed) for overtaking other cars and trucks.

Very much obliged for your and the other posters replies.
January 22, 201115 yr i am not sure about this guys, i have been told that the ECU dont like to get fifferent type of fuel all the time, stay with 1 type i was told, not sure about this??
January 23, 201115 yr i am not sure about this guys, i have been told that the ECU dont like to get fifferent type of fuel all the time, stay with 1 type i was told, not sure about this?? Not correct fuel is not always the same 91 gasohol E10 in one pump can be different from 91 gasohol E10 in another pump. different brand names and different qualitys each supply. Most choose the least expensive fuel car can handle, and its healthy to provide better juice on occasions Some cars have knock sensors, and ECU adjusting engine to run whatever fuel is provided. Higher octane, more power and less consumption In general E10 is good as it keeps engine internals clean, but on occasions its good to recieve some good old petrol to lubricate things better
January 23, 201115 yr ecu's can learn and adjust themselves to fine tune the engine call mapping, not sure about the VIOS but certaintly in other cars, now does this do any harm ? unlikely
