Tony, it's a small world...do you happen to know my cousin?

Bike looks awfully familiar

Hahaha!!! Is your cousin Khun Pui's brother?! Khun Pui told me his brother has a K5 with the Corona fairings, same as me. Would be cool to put them next to each other for a photo shoot. Small world, eh?

Here's a short clip taken while following Bananaboy on his Ninja ZX10R track bike.

Rode all the way from Bangkok to Chiang Kham and back via Petchabun and Loei in track fairings, race slicks and race exhaust and not a single hassle from the police- gotta LOVE this country! :jap:

Ride On!

Btw Tony, where's that seat unit from? The 2011 gsx600r has similar

The seat on my Gixxer is a Suzuki Gel Seat- very comfy for touring, but taller than stock and too tall for track IMO so I'm looking for a stock GSXR 1000 K5/K6 seat or may try to fab something up myself.

Here's a better look at the gel seat:

Hey Tony, well my cousin is not Khun Pui, however that MAY be Khun Pui's bike. My cousin likes to take pictures with other people's bikes. It looks like (from the other pictures that he had posted) that he went to the same garage that Khun Pui may have been at. I didn't know if it was your bike or not so I thought I would ask.

Ah! No mate, as I said previously, Khun Pui's BROTHER owns a Gixxer in Corona fairings. So that is not actually your cousins Gixxer? My friend Khun Pui says that his brother has a K5 in Corona fairings same as mine, but I've never seen it. I believe Khun Pui's brother lives in Chiang Mai. Ride On! Tony

So Tony,

What is the minimum cc requirement to ride with you guys. I would love to ride with you on one of these runs, but alas, I just have a little FZR400. Wish I could bring over my CBR1000RR. :)

Hey Sub,

We don't really have any minimum cc requirement and I think a FZR400 in good nick could probably keep up, more or less, and would actually be quicker than the liter bikes in the mountains.

We often split into two groups- "fast" and "faster" and set rendezvous points along the way.

On this last ride we had a Triumph Bonneville and a Kawa ER6n along, and they were never too far behind.

And sometimes I just want to get our and cruise and enjoy the scenery- in that case I take the Versys- awesome go anywhere economical touring bike, but a bit lacking in top end speed.

Drop a line next time you're in Thailand- look forward to meeting you and seeing that beautiful Fizzer.

(But if you try to show me the coolant burns on your a$$ I reserve the right to kick you where it counts) buttkick.gif

Ride On!

Love the thread. Beautiful bikes and great to see you're wearing the gear. smile.gif Wish I were always as sensible. unsure.gif

Quite correct that a well maintained and ridden 4 cyl 400cc will often do big bikes in the mountains(although I'm not sure about these rocket ships) and a 135cc will do 'em all in BKK. Horses for courses. Straights a bit tedious at 120kph, but we avoid them anyway. The slowest bike is only 1 beer behind at the end of the day. The tortoise and the hare thing suggests that the tortoise may in fact be enjoying that first beer while the hare is still showing off his carbon fibre at the motorcycle taxi rank... cool.gif

I've got a favourite 1 hour long 'twisty / scratchy'. I can easily whoop my 1200 Trophy (accepted a tourer in comparison to pics - but no slouch either) on my 'tidy' 400. Just gotta keep the head down and the left hand and foot working. Ain't that what it's all about anyway?

Ever compared lap times in the 125/250cc classes to those in any other class you'd like to choose? Bee's-dick! (can I say "Bee" on the forum?)

Really enjoyed your sharing. Ta. See ya distantly in my mirrors sometime on a bendy (in my dreams) wink.gif
