Bose Sound Dock Switching Power Supply Unit

Featured Replies

Does anyone please know where I can buy or repair my Bose Sound dock switching power supply unit, I think the transformer has given up the ghost?

Many Thx. Ray.

If the SMPSU can be opened without breaking it, possible worth seeing if it can be repaired.

As they are more electronic than a simple PSU possibility is that it is a transistor or resistor though in my experience quite often the PCB can get burnt up and there is always possibility it is a transformer or choke which means a new unit.

If the output is single voltage it may be cheaper to buy an "off the shelf none discript" and change the plugs if needed, just make sure the voltage is the same and current output is at least the same but it is acceptable to have more, all power supplies should have a name plate with these details.

You can find pleanty of suppliers new or refurb on Google if you want to risk importing one.

Thx for your reply I take your point the supply is a simple 18V DC from the transformer but it outputs to a very small 4 pin plug to plug itno the unit so not sure what the other 2 pins are for I think there is a place in basement of Tuk Com that does repaire of electrical equipment might be worth calling in there with it to see what they say .

Thanks for your help Ray.
