How Can I Get My Wife Visa For Norway

Featured Replies

my wife is in uk on eea family permit, she has 5 year resident stamp , i am now unemployed in uk but can get employment in norway, i can go over to norway first by myself and stay for 6 mnths untill i can get some kind of visa worked out her for and my baby daughter, what can i do about this, i lived in norway before and would love to go back and settle hopefully long term .

Off topic post deleted. Stick to the point, which is Norwegian visas.

Norway is not a member of the EU, but it is a member of the EEA; therefore the same freedom of movement rights apply to EEA nationals and their family as apply in other EU and EEA states. This means that you can obtain the Norwegian equivalent of a UK EEA family permit for her.

Norway is also a member of the Schengen agreement, and looking at the Norwegian immigration website it seems that you first obtain a Schengen visa for her and then once in Norway she applies for residence.

Right of residence in Norway for EU/EEA/EFTA nationals

Family immigration with an EEA national

Your daughter presumably has joint nationality and so can use her EU/EEA nationality to exercise the same freedom of movements rights that you have.
