Meanwhile, actual qualified scientists have systematically dismantled their claims in academically respected The Conversation: "COVID lab-leak theory: ‘rare’ genetic sequence doesn’t mean the virus was engineered". "The authors fail to provide a reason why the double-CGG sequence couldn’t exist naturally… viruses evolve rapidly, and mutation accumulation is a common challenge in virology studies." And here’s the kicker: "There is no evidence presented that scientifically supports the concept of a lab leak of a genetically engineered virus." Translation? Muller and Quay are peddling speculative theories as facts. Maybe it’s time to listen to real experts in viral origins instead of relying on a couple of generalists playing virology for a Congressional audience.
