Irish Person - 3 X 60 Day Entry Tourist Visa Fee?

Featured Replies

Sorry to start a new topic on this but I am so confused with all I am reading. There is so much about tourist visa exemption from fees but when I rang the consulate in Ireland they said that there is still a 120 euro fee for a 3 x 60 day entry visa. But on one of the english forums I read that all it cost an english man was the postage and no fees for the visa itself.

Can anyone confirm as it would appear the thai consulate here doesnt know. And on trailfinders.ie it says no fees. http://visas.trailfinders.ie/visas.nsf/email?ReadForm&order=thailand&code=10 thank you.

Tourist visas are free until March.

Tourist visas are free until March.

Thanks. So how does one go about telling this to the consulate here? As the website here has no mention of free visas, http://www.thaiconsulateireland.com/ lucky me has just sent in a €120 postal order the other day and on the phone today as far as she was concerned it is still €120.

I expect you might only be able to obtain one free visa if you question it.

Go here: http://www.mfa.go.th/web/2637.php

This is the Ministry for Foreign Affairs in Thailand. Read the BLUE scrolling writing at the bottom, it explains TOURIST VISAs are FREE until March 2011.

"All foreigners who apply for Tourist Visa at the Royal Thai Embassies and the Royal Thai Consulates-General worldwide, including eligible foreigners who apply for Visa on Arrival at designated checkpoints, will be exempted from Tourist Visa fee" from 11 May B.E. 2553 (2010) to 31 March B.E. 2554 (2011). Such arrangement is for Tourist Visa only.

I rang the english Thai embassy and they said there are no fees for multiple entries so they know the story. Sent a letter to the Irish office today and kindly asked for my postal order back with a print out of the page you have above. See how it goes!

just get your visa from Hull, they will post to Ireland for an extra 2 quid :whistling:

yeah I really wish I had looked into this. The Irish thai consulate rang me today and said they had to go by the guidelines given to them which was to charge €120 for a triple entry visa. I am really annoyed as I could have used that towards the ticket.

*postal order was already sent at time of first post.
