90 Day Reporting Online

Featured Replies

I heard through someone (a very good source) at Australian Chamber of Commerce that 90 day reporting will be able to be done online soon.

Apparently, the launch date is Valentines Day.

Immigration romancing its clients. I like it. whistling.gif

Very interesting. I am curious how the Aussie Chamber of Commerece would know. Most immigration officials don't know anything until AFTER it has taken effect.

It was mentioned at a meeting between the JFCCT (Joint Foreign Chambers) and some government departments.

Dream on.:whistling:

Valentine's Day launch date? Are you sure you heard that right? April Fool's Day seems more likely.

I'll believe it when I see it, but that's what they said.

Valentine Day is appropriate as online 90 days address reporting is an idea all expats could love.

P.S. I'm not holding my breath...seems we get one of these type posts (rumors) every year or so regarding online reporting. Some day I hope the rumor comes true...but for now I will continue to breathe. .

They have actually trialed this previously. I think last year........I remember reading some report about it in a Chon Buri paper.

Use of webcam, register for the service, they take a digital picture of you (in person), passport details etc etc.

Hey, how about doing something like that at any 7-11 around the country. Walk in, say you want to do your 90 day address reporting, pay 7-11 a ten baht fee like paying for a utility bill, and then walk out. Good to go for another 90 days. But just like utility bills have pay-no-later-than-dates and 7-11 can't process them after that day, if you are reporting over 7 days past the 90 day due date you must instead report to immigration and pay the 2000 baht fine. Works for me.

That's actually a pretty cool idea, Pib..

Only problem is, for now, the paper slips we get re our 90 day report notices don't have any scannable coding on them...no ID or account numbers... just hand written by Immigration, as I recall...

But I definitely could go for that.... 10 baht for the reporting fee...and then another 40 or so baht for your favorite bottle of beer to celebrate yet another 90 days in heaven. B)

Durn, you're right...no bar code on the reporting slips. You listening in Immigration Dept?...it's called efficiency, process improvement, etc. Thanks.

Why not take it a step further and for those of us that continue on long stay visas and extensions and if we live in a specific place and do not change addresses only require a report if a move is made. If a person remains at a given place there should be no need to continue this reporting as the annual extension should be enough.

Way too convenient and sensible. It will never happen.

I expect the immigration dept. has done a 10 year long study by a half dozen different commissions and the results was 90 day address reporting process improvement would reduce the number of 2000 baht fines collected for overdue reporting. This, in turn, would drop the immigration dept from the number 2 spot in the govt agencies ranking for fines collected (the number 1 spot has long been held by the traffic police even when excluding the unofficial, to the hand, through the car window non-issued traffic fines). Maintaining a top position on the govt fines collected chart is very important...it shows enforcement of the law...and we all know laws/regulations are enforced uniformly and equably across the country.

It will be great if we can do the reporting online. But, sad voor Bangkok90days, they just started an 90 days services for expats. Pickup and deliver services 90days reporting, for the ones who want save time. Iw would be good if we could do more visawork online.
