This Time Last Year I Was With Ning

Featured Replies

Following The Moog's comment about 'do I only respond to topics in which I start myself' I was influenced to start this one by thinking back to this time last year when I had loads of time to respond to other topics on ThaiVisa dot com when I wasn't looking after the Sunshine restaurant in Hua Hin or at home singeing the king of Spains beard.

Blimey, it's over a year since I met Ning!!! :o

August 26th we met, and August 29th I moved to Condo Chain in Hua Hin from Bangkok and brought her with me.

She was asleep in the back of Splitlid's car with all my stuff and the three of us went out that night and did some tequillas and later I discovered that I had bitten off more than I could chew with the Ningster.

How many now well known members have we gained since then and how many have fallen by the wayside?

I know Splitlid is one of them, and I think top brass should send out an e-mail inviting all those golden oldies back, Tutsiwarrior, D90 and Rod Kalashnikov et al.

I want to respond to some other topics but I've only recently finished work and I have to be up in 7 hours.

Incedentally, I had a day off yesterday - my first since I started six weeks ago, and I went to Tiannamen Square but I didn't see it because it was night time and I wanted to do some shopping and to my shock and horror I spent 780 RMB on a pair of trousers and the equivelant of 20 quid on a tank top.

Be warned...

Anyone who says China is cheap is talking out of their arse.

Viva Thailand and all the expats and Thai people and reasonably priced shopping malls! :D

Where will you go for your holiday?

That's only a silly question if you are posting outside LOS, otherwise it's not a silly question, and Scampy don't ask silly questions.

Do you really have a tail?

Am going to Central America baby :o need to get out of LOS for a bit and go dance some salsa .... but alas it is still some months away. Work, work, work!!!

Ah, but the anticipated trail of freedom teases me forward :D

On August the 29th last year the wife and i were having a romantic meal to celebrate our 3 year wedding anniversary. If you ask the same question this time next year then i will respond by saying i was sat on the edge of the bath looking at a pregnancy test waiting for the dots to either appear or disappear. The good news is they didnt dissapear, what a present for our anniversary :o

I was in Honolulu for my very last meeting as a Federal manager. I had told them I was going to retire this year a number of times, but they never believed me. Another manager was retiring also and they set up a big party for him. I asked, "What about me?" and then told them I really was retiring. Jaws dropped, a pregnant silence ensued and then the big boss muttered, "The end of an era."

(I'd been on Saipan for 25 years at that point. I retired March 31st and there still is no replacement in place.)

seem that time I was at Koh Phi Phi with ex-bf i had a great time there...and after tsunami attacted..all gone :o:D

I was working in Hat Yai earing loads of money. Not in the same positions now but wouldnt change it for the world. Definately miss the shoe shopping though

Sitting in Malaysia, wondering how much longer my job would last, and then being told got a job in BKK starting January :o

This time last year....................at home in Pattaya, still here just different house now.

Amazing how quickly time passes it doesn't seem a year since the Ning saga. :o

I was working the same crummy job in Bahrain...can't believe I managed to last this long...

last year I was in Chiang Rai butterflying through the whole bar district. Only one girl is still there.

I was.. unemployed and was partying like mad. Also was on my little journey (blame the fate) to meet the bugger... or busker? Oh whatever. Hmm.. the memories.. :o

Last year this time I was engrossed reading about the wacky love affair of an Englishman and a Thai woman in Hua Hin on Thai Visa Forum... :o:D

Same here. Beside this, I was doing pretty much the same job at the same place living with the same wife and the same two kids making a mess in the same living room as last year. Can't really complain at all :D

I was working same job, but located in Sydney. It was around this time i engineered the relocation to Bangkok. I suspect I was spending most days reading forums like thaivisa, cribbing up on the 'need to knows.'

Someone has to uphold their duty in propagating the species

Rest of you seem pretty nonchalant when it comes to Schopenhauer's 'Will To Life' !
