Hello, I have a few questions about my upcoming trip to Cambodia to renew my Thai visa (not just a border crossing- need to go all the way to Phnom Penh to the Thai Embassy for a three month visa). If anyone has any information at all or legitimate links, it would be so greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance! Ok, here goes.....I have apparently miscalculated some things, and I have read so many things on the internet that contradict each other and give me varied information, hence the reason I am here now. I am wondering, what is the absolute fastest (and cheapest) way to get from Bangkok to Phnom Penh? I know there is a train to the border, but after that? Is it necessary to stay overnight at the border (on either side), and is there another (decently priced) way to get to the Cambodian capital for two people, such as a taxi or something? It seems there is a bus, but I have read the latest is at 12:45. I find it hard to believe that it will take me over 24 hours to go from Bangkok to Phnom Penh. What is the best way to do this first leg of my trip? I do not have much money, and now time is also an issue. I want to leave very early Wednesday morning from Bangkok, and hopefully return by Monday night after also stopping by Siem Reap to see the famous Angkor Wat (which I have been told is too great to pass up while in Cambodia - for a day). Do you think this is possible and that in this amount of time I will be able to both get my visa (a two day process as you have to drop it off and pick it up on a weekday, the next day), and see Angkor Wat? ANY ADVICE AT ALL ABOUT ANY LEG OF THIS JOURNEY IS GREATLY APPRECIATED!!!!! THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!

The fastest way to go from Bangkok to Phnom Penh is by aeroplane. For the cheapest way of the fastest way, ie the lowest airfare, you will need to search the web. I have seen low-cost carriers like Nok Air and Air Asia mentioned, but don't know offhand whether either or both fly to Phom Penh. Perhaps somebody will give you information on it in the morning.

Air Asia, Bangkok Air and Thai Air fly to Cambodia, Nok Air does not.

Bangkok -Pnom Phen return on Air Asia is around 6k baht return.

Had it been booked in advance it would have been around half that.

Do not believe you pick up passport next day in PP. There turn around is longer than other Embassies. If you submit Thursday believe Monday will be pickup.

Thanks for replies, however, we are going by land. If we take the 5:55am train to the border and cross, do you think we will make it in time to catch the bus at 12:45 to PP? If not and we miss it, are there cars to hire or other means to get to PP that night?

Can we get the 90 day visa in Siem Reap for non immigrant b? Or do we have to do it in PP?

Also, as someone else has stated, is the turnaround really more than 1 night in PP?

Any advice or suggestions, will continually to be appreciated.
