webfact
Nigerian woman arrested at Suvarnabhumi Airport with 3 kilos of 'ice' BANGKOK, Jan 31 – Thai police arrested a Nigerian woman arriving at Suvarnabhumi Airport with a large amount of crystal methamphetamine, also known as ice, worth Bt9 million (US$300,000). Jennifer Chinenye Nwankuuo, 28, left Nairobi by Kenya Airlines and was arrested with three kilogrammes of ice and cash in US$1,950 (Bt58,500) and 5,935 naira (US$39 or about Bt1,200) in her luggage. She allegedly smuggled the drug from Kenya and was bound for Cambodia. The suspect denied the charge, saying a Nigerian man hired her with $2,000 (Bt 60,000) to carry luggage to Phnom Penh but she did not know the illegal drug was hidden in the luggage. The police found that she was a student with the first honours at the Faculty of Science at a university in Nigeria. housepainter
An informative article that explained that the Thai degree and the Nigerian one are both worthless bits of paper as any graduate is as thick as a post. Faculty of Science graduate and she couldn't figure 3 kg of ice would melt. Then again she could have been helping a relative of the Finance Minister who died in a plane crash leaving his family to get the 3 kg of ice and the vast sum of 39 US dollars out of the country where it could be safely disposed of without tarnishing the good name of a dead man. Maybe this was lost in translation. I wonder if they explained to Jennifer the free stay at the Bangkok Hilton, which the trip included. Her name, Jennifer the Mule, was on the guest list. She'll be checking out in time for the next sighting of Jupiter then.

Steely Dan
What is it with Nigerians? They do seem to account for more than their fair share of drug mules, which I'm sure doesn't go unnoticed by customs, I suspect a Nigerian passport is not far short of wearing a T-shirt with cavity search required written on it.
