What do you take with you on the bike when making a longer tour?

The small tool-set under the seat it not much and not of good quality.

So more & better tools?

First-aid kit?

Tyre repair set?

Flash light?

Sparks?

Light bulb's?

Air pump?

I tend to travel light as I think that here in Thailand there is always some to help you. Of course maybe not with the right tools. And maybe not when you are really of the beaten track (just remembering myself (alone) on my old XT in the middle of nowhere on a mountain track).

I was discussing this just recently with Tony and some others with plenty of good ideas. At minumum, I always carry some basic tools, speed tape, cable ties and a knife. This mob have some good kits but will give you and idea of what you can use as a shortlist: http://www.blueridge...m/motoStore.htm

Kit comparison list: http://www.blueridge...otoKitChart.htm

Just to add, these kits are meant for trail bikes as such, as a lot of modern bikes have 17mm engine sump drain plugs, but you get the idea.
