Visa Run To Nearest Border

Featured Replies

Hi all,

I'm about to do my first Visa run, on or before 9th Feb. I have a Multi Non-O.

I'm located in Saraburi so being so far from any border it looks like a flight is in order. I don't fancy hours on a Bus.

I know I've left it a bit late, I just checked with Air Asia and there are no available flights/places before 9th Feb.

I was wondering if anyone could offer advice. I'm thinking a domestic flight to Hat Yai and then a Taxi to the border, cross and come straight back in again.

It seems there are 4-flights/day to Hat Yai so I should be able to make it back for a return flight on the same day.

Alternatively, I could take a flight to Phnom Penh but looking at the flight times I would not have enough time to get the return on the same day so an overnight would be in order.

Appreciate any advice on the best option or alternatives.

Cheers.

Another option would be a flight to Udon Thani and get a Taxi or mini bus to the border. Air Asia, Nok Air or Thai.

EDIT.

That would mean paying 1,500 Baht for a Laos Visa but is an option.

BKK to Penang Malaysia and back ? Easily doable. Not sure where Saraburi is so maybe not ? Near BKK ?

100 km.

Thanks for the replies.

I think I'll just jump a flight to KL. I can do it in a day but the Hat Yai and Udon Thani options will require an overnight.

Cheers.
