I read here a post where a member showed sufficient savings in a US account

I have $ and sterling accounts

Did the paperwork need to show conversion to baht or ringgit

Can all paperwork be in English

I have fotos my passport and copiees

Wifes ID card copy

Marriage Certificate

and house book copy all signed

Fee 550 Rm

Is KL the easiest as Khota Bahrhu or Penang any better ?

Saves a long haul to Hull or Brisbane

Any other ideas for a man tired of flying who just wants a quiet life without pain of 90 day reports and very intrusive questions by neighbouring Immihration Office who while they couldnt issue the visa can upset my wife.

Have I forgotten anything and is 2 working days sufficient to get the visa so I may book flights?

Thanks in anticipation

The requirement is 100,000 baht in an account in your name, the currency doesn't matter as long as it is worth at least 100k. They will do the conversion.

All paperwork can be in English.

You might also want to bring the marriage certificate and a simple note from the misses asking for a visa for you might be helpful.

Normally 2 work days is enough.

Thanks mario but can account be ourtside Thailand as other poster suggested?

He had savings in America, mine are in Oz and Europe

Budget not tight so conversion I'll ensure theres 3-400k baht in anyway

An aexample of wifes letter be handy would an email from her be enough Ive already arrived Kl and forgot to ask my wife to invite me "home"

There is no problem and I can wait a few more days if needs be or do it on my next 90 day hop

I still have a few months to run just thought get in while somwhere easy and I can speak the lingo

Has anyone out there done it in SE Asia without a deposit inside Thailand please

As Im inAir aisa hub Kl easy to hop to virtuallly antywhere in a couple of hours Laos Hong Kong etc

The money can be in a foreign account.

Not having the note should not be a problem, it is nice if you have it but I believe it is not an absolute requirement. An email would be better than nothing.

I got mine on 12 Jan I think.

No note or letter, but wife was with me. I'm sure it can help.

100K Baht equivalent in my US bank account. They do the math.

Everything was in it's original languages, no translation of anything was needed.

Arrived at RTC at 0900 day 1, walked out by 0920. Picked up my visa the next day at 1430.

Too easy.

Certainly all they seemed bothered about was seeing a statement with enough in there at Penang 2 weeks ago.

Of course take marriage cert and id too

I just got my Multi Entry Non Immigrant "O" Visa at KL

Arrived at 9.30 AM already 60 people inside in front of me :realangry:

Took about 1 hour before my turn came .

I had

The Visa application form which I had already downloaded and typed the required information in

My Passport

Copy of my passport

Copy of my Bangkok Bank book showing the balance as of November 2010

Copy of my wife,s ID card

Copy of my Marriage Certificate

Copy of my wifes house paper

550 Ringit

The girl at the counter asked to see my bankbook , everything else ok .

Arrived at 2.30 P.M. the following day , just a matter of joining the queue , and presenting the number I was given the previous day , and collecting my passport .

Very easy and straight forward .

Many thanks everyone most reassuring

I didn't know Penang was on so may take wife for break and kill to Tigers with one opening

Cheers

Is this type of 100k in a bank deal possible in Vientiane or Rangoon/Yangon also?

To be fair to LOS with its v flexible system there always seem a way if you have funds.

Interestingly pal here was at Uzbeki airlines,no website and no business cards not very reassuring!

Anyone got a 1 year multi entry elsewhere eg manila Singapore Dakka Colombo Hong Kong that do not require marathon plane journets I find 4 hours enough .

Maybe could go Korea or India too, been Japan and very expensive,
