I don't have an income but I have savings in a foreign bankaccount. Can I use for a Thai Marriage Visa?

Normally, savings account will not work as the requirement is amonthly income.

I don't have an income but my Thai spouse does. Will I stillqualify for a Thai Marriage Visa?

Yes, as long as your Thai spouse's income is THB 40,000 and above. This financial requirement for the Thai marriage visa is your combined monthlyincome so it is okay if it comes from either or the both of you. She wouldhowever need to show her income tax documents to prove that she earns the saidamount of money.

I'm a little confused because for a while ago I investigated the accuracy of the above postulate from SIAM LEGAL with our local emigrations office.

I got word that this was so. Now today I was back down on the emigration of another job, so I asked just for fun, if the rules for marriage visa had changed.

They now say that only farangs income applicable and must be the 40,000 .- baht or 400,000 .- baht on a savings account .. Siam Legal said the rule with the 400,000 .- is not valid anymore.

Anyone have experience with this, for I am so tired of all this different people who changes constantly.

IS there anyone who knows the real rules.

Ifanyone has a reference to the applicable rules, I would behappy.

Most people here know the real rules as they have been in effect for over two years. But it is for a one year extension of stay from Immigration rather than a marriage visa (which does not exist). Basically it is you income or savings only and the amount is 40k per month or 400k in Thailand located bank account. The requirements are listed in Police Order 777/2551

(6) In case of marriage with a Thai lady, the husband who is an

alien must have an average annual income of not less than

40,000 baht per month or a money deposit in a local Thai bank

of not less than 400,000 baht for the past 2 months for expenses

within a year.
