February 12, 201115 yr I have researched old threads on this topic, but none exactly mirror my situation. I am on an extension of stay for a Non-Immigrant B Visa, and I am likely resigning at the end of the month. I also have a multiple re-entry permit. I would like to leave the country and return on a Tourist Visa. I understand that I can cancel my extension of stay at the immigration office if I present a letter from my employer. The trouble is that my employer is not always so well organized. Does anyone know whether it is possible to cancel an extension of stay without such a letter? The trouble is, if I simply fly out, I assume the visa will remain active because of the reentry permit. Is it possible to tell immigration that you don't want to use the reentry permit? Thanks for any suggestions.
February 12, 201115 yr You will have to cancel the re-entry permit before you leave. Ask your employer for such a letter for immigration and the labour office. if they will not issue, suggest you write a letter to your employer in which you resign with the date on which you resign and take a copy of this letter with you to labour and immigration.
February 12, 201115 yr Expect they will get organized fast if Immigration Police are forced to call them because they failed to provide the required letter.
