Hi,a friend of mine is arriving in Phuket on March 30th, only needs to stay one night as she's flying to Samui the next day.

Anyone got any recommendations for a cheap, clean place to stay near the airport?

Thanks in advance,

Biff

... you can probably find somewhere for half the price though I would guess.

Yes, there are cheaper Thai guest-houses, but as usual, you get what you pay for...

I guess my own hotel will be too expensive, so I'll pass :)

Well, I just spoke to her and her budget is around the 1,000-2,000 mark, pick up from the airport would be nice too. Although she's quite capable of dealing with Thai taxis, having lived in Samui previously, it would be nice not to have to :)

Thanks for the replies so far.

Perhaps the easiest way to find a hotel near to Phuket Airport would be to Google for 'Phuket Airport hotel' :whistling:

We can do that for most things I agree Simon but its better to have a personal recommendation. Any of us could copy and paste a dozen places but are they any good?

Simon, you;re a genius, why didn't I think of that? Rather than asking people who might have actually been in the area, and have some idea of how to specifically help me, for instance on a forum who's members have detailed and up to date first hand knowledge of the area in question. Information that has, in the past, been extremely useful to me and countless thousands of others. I'll do a google search.

Brilliant!

Sadly, I fear, the google search would not have resulted in my finding your suggestion. So, once again, I find myself indebted to the forum, if only for that.

If I can be of similar assistance to you at any time, please, just let me know. :wai:

Bifftastic - my suggestion was somewhat 'tongue in cheek'.

Without wanting to promote on this forum, I am the owner of Phuket Airport Hotel, which is therefore always listed when one does the most logical Google search :)

But I should not promote my business on ThaiVisa (I am only a sponsor in a local forum for my other hotel...)

Aaaaah ok, now that makes sense  ok sorry :)

well, without any prompting from anyone, there may well be a google search then ;)

Sorry Biff and Smokie but it couldn't have been more obvious without ACTUALLY spelling it out when you add this comment with his follow ups..Although Simon did kinda confuse matters by mentioning he'd pass..
