Dentists Hua Hin Cha Am

Any recommendations for dentists in Hua Hin.

Bad experience (continuing) with dental outfit with branches in Hua Hin and Cha Am. No names, but take a wild guess.

Charged 80,000 for root canal treatment and crowns, one which is ill fitted and still causes pain.

At initial visit, dentist dropped drill head down my throat and nearly swallowed. When I went home part of crown dislodged and nearly swallowed.

Went back and they advised that I would need one extraction, one new crown and two implants, cost Baht150,000.

The cost is secondary to health and treatment survival.

Loath to go back there, obviously. Therefore, any recommendations for good, competent dentists in local area for the type of treatment mentioned above..

If you dont mind a trip to Petchaburi, on the road that runs behind Big C is a great dentist. The lady speaks reasonable English. Implants including extraction and a plate to where while the gum is retracting cost between 48,000 and 65,000...depends if you want Asian, U.S. or European implant........I must say that the Cha am dentist is hopless, I needed a filling a few weeks ago and didnt have time to go to Petchaburi so went in Cha am......the dentist there wanted to extract the tooth and said we must also extract the bottom one also to match, what rubbish,

There must be at least ten dental offices in Hua Hin now. I don't have any recent experience with any of them but at least one of them must be ok. Surely there is one better suited here than having to go to Petchaburi or Pranburi. I certainly would not trust a non-tourist or non-expat town Thai dentist. I would go to Bangkok first. My wife went to a Thai dental office in Hua Hin years ago when that was pretty much all that was here. He was just lazy and pulled a tooth that would have been saved by any real dentist, but that's the easiest option for some local ones.

Many thanks for the replies:

Is that the dental practice on the right going north ,on the corner of a little soi - 4 or 5 dentists operating together?

Had a nightmare in Cha Am-probably the same place you went; Lately advised by reception staff when I inquired about where the dentist that operated on me was: "She go learn more!"

Dental 3000 was ok but they've closed, perfect smile chain is what I see often but never been or known anyone that has.

IS THERE ANY POINT LISTING A dENTAL pRACTICE THAT IS CLOSED? iF SO WHY ONLY LIST ONE, THEIR MUST BE MORE, IF SO WHY NOT LIST THESE.

I HAVE NEVER HEARD OF A "DENTAL 3000" I do not believe there was one. Their was a "Dental 2000" 150 m south of Market Village which closed about 18 month's ago.:whistling::unsure:

I used one of the smile clinics 100 m North of the Kasakorn Bank on the same side, excellent. :D

If you take the new flyover to the rear of Big C and carry on for approx 500 meters it is on the right hand side.....cant miss it as has the usual big purple sign outside.

There is a very good dentist at the Smile Corner on Petchakem Road near soi 78. His name is Ataphon (not sure about the spelling in Latin letters). He doesn't work there every day so I suggest you call first and make a reservation. Their telephone number is 032-514 109.

My son recently had an impacted wisdom tooth extracted at the Bangkok Hospital, Hua Hin. Their dental office is on the second floor. Very clean and professional - overall very good experience (not so much for my son at the time) . Cost seemed a bit high, I think it was about 8000 baht for one tooth, but he needed stiches and meds. If you need to buy meds or refills, go to an outside pharmacy as the pharmacy in the hospital was expensive.

I highly recommend Hua Hin Hospital, I just had a wisdom tooth that was pulled out that 2 other high end dentist specialists in Bangkok passed on because it was too difficult to remove.

You will need to make an appointment, one month wait in my case. It is one of the King's Hospitals so the costs are very low, (never saw a farang and the total price was only 1200 baht !!)

But don't let the fact the price was over 10 times cheaper than Bangkok Dentists, the specialist in there knew exactly what to do and finished it in a hour. Now a month later, it has healed perfectly and I can easily recommend their dental department in a second.
