hi, i have been trying to download from the uk embassy the affimation freedom to marry form but i am having no joy. (i`ve not got microsoft word).

ive been told i can retype the form but then some people are saying u need the original form from the embassy and a re-typed copy will be turned away.

i am trying to do the visa in one day and i am taking one of thai visas member itineray. i know my way to all the places i need to visit but the dam_n form is elusive..

if and when i get the form do i need to fill in 2 forms, 1 to take to the translation office the day b4 and 1 to take to the embassy first appointment the next day?

thank you

Please retype the affirmation including your details on one page in the same format as the attached sample and bring it in person to the Embassy to sign before a British Consular official.

From the above on Embassy web site what you download is a PDF sample that you must type yourself - you would not need word to do that - any text editor should be fine and wordpad/notepad are on most computers.

You have to submit to Embassy first and then take to translation service to get Thai and register at MFA.

I also do not get any download from Embassy but a black screen and waited 30 seconds which should be plenty of time. That using Firefox. You will need IE to download it and allow active X control to be installed. Not too friendly a download.
